Not a movie, but it’s related. I’ve been slacking on my TV watching, and have JUST started ABC’s 2009-launched Modern Family. I’m one to get sucked into one TV series at a time, and I think this one is going to grab hold on me for a while. This show is absolutely hilarious, and there is not a single character that I dont’ like (very surprising).
I’m an RA (Resident Assistant) at my college and was on duty this past weekend. This means I have to sit in my room for hours upon end and do absolutely nothing, except have my door open. Since I ran out of coloring books, I decided to watch 17 episodes (20 minutes each) of Modern Family. I could not stop watching. This show is amazing.
I’m posting this not only because I think everyone should get the chance to watch this hilarious show, but I think it’d be a great movie! Maybe I should pitch that to ABC…

We talked about this movie called The Warriors in one of my classes today. I’ve never seen it, and it looks ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I’m super tempted to watch, I heard it’s hilarious.

Rango: the No-Go

I tried. I tried SO hard. All I wanted to do was to like this movie. Johnny Depp is amazing as a drug dealer or a man with scissors fingers, but there is no way in hell I will ever watch him as a lizard again.

I think this movie might have been one of the most boring movies I’ve ever seen. The animation made me feel grimy and gross, and the characters were surprisingly boring. The only reason the movie stayed on for longer than 20 minutes was because I was watching it with my boyfriend, who seemed to tolerate it a little more than I did. We both agreed though that we would much rather be playing Angry Birds, watching football, or even doing homework. Yes, homework. It was that bad.

Oh, handsome Johnny Depp, please please please never do another movie like Rango again. I went in routing for this Verbinski film, but I wanted to pluck my eyeballs out after a half hour.

Reel World gives Rango:    1/2 a Kevin Costner (just because Johnny Depp is dreamy)

reel world movie grading

Here’s where I give you the inside scoop on how I’ll be grading movies.

Dun dun dun dunnnnn!!!

Each movie will be ranked on a scale from: zero - five Kevin Costners!

So, today will be my first film analysis. I love animated movies, and have been super excited to watch Rango. I finally have some down time, so today is the day. I’ve always been impressed with everything Johnny Depp is a part of, so I’m going into this with high expectations. I’ll be back to report this evening.

day one

Oh, hello! My name is Casey and I’m a Junior at Champlain College. I live here, in Burlington Vermont, and I love every minute of it. I’m taking a Social Media class, hence the Tumblr.

When picking a theme for my Tumblr, it was a no-brainer. I’ve been in love with movies FOREVER. And by forever, I mean 20 years. But, hey, that’s still a freaking long time. Anyway, I love movies. All types of movies. And especially Kevin Costner movies.

Yes, yes, yes, Kevin Costner. Laugh all you want, make all the Waterworld jokes you want, I won’t care and it won’t change my mind about him. I believe he creates amazing and intriguing films, and I’ve seen every single one of them.

And yes, my Tumblr picture is of Kevin and I. So, it’s obvious that I did get to meet him. He was a sweetheart and that is one night I will never forget.

But, enough about the handsome god of the film industry, and back to me. I’ll be using this Tumblr as a place to gloat, praise, and even vent about the movies I watch. So if you like film reviews and random Kevin Costner blurbs, awesome. Stick around and I hope you enjoy.
